St. Stanislaus 2011 Alumni Mass and Chili-Cookoff
The evening of Saturday, January 29, 2011 brought a surprising change to the previously held 'Soup and Salad' kick off for Catholic School's Week. The St. Stan's Alumni Group has sponsored the parish event, which includes former classmates, parishioners and friends of St. Stanislaus Parish, for the past 7 years. 
It began with the 5:00 o'clock Mass. Then everyone, including the 10 chefs who hoped that their Chili Creation would be the First Golden Spoon Award, walked to the Social Hall on Baxter. 
It was a tough assignment for everyone but someone had to make the sacrifice and taste all those Chilis. Fr. Mike presided over the voting, which was very 'loud with cheers and applause' by friends of the Chefs to determine the 'Best of Show Chili'. 
This honor went to Marilyn Mosinski for her creation with toppings of shredded cheese, chopped onions and a "piping of sour cream", which created some grumblings from the other chefs because they didn't think of it first. 
During the course of the evening raffle tickets were sold and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the company and renewed friendships of classmates they hadn't seen in years.
