Shrine Mass
St. Stanislaus Church was designated a Shrine Church of the Diocese of Cleveland.

Four Eagle Award Dinner

St. Stanislaus Combined Choirs and Musical Friends
Catholic tradition has always placed Mary, the Mother of God, in a most honored position. At
St. Stanislaus Church, the tradition of a Marian concert coupled with prayer and a formal crowning paid
tribute to Our Lady on the first Sunday of her month. Vocal and floral tributes set this
concert apart from all others.

Divine Mercy Sunday
On the first Sunday after Easter, this special Mass included the anointing of the sick. This Mass was
planned especially for the benefit of those belonging to the parish who are normally unable to attend church services due to
illness or infirmity. The Mass concluded with the praying of the Divine Mercy chaplet.

Hildegard's 'ORDO VIRTUTUM'
Hildegard von Bingen's "ORDO VIRTUTUM," is the 12th Century morality play about the Soul's struggle to
escape the temptation of the Devil and the World in order to join the Virtues in Heaven.
This staged performance was directed by Mary Larew of Oberlin College, with performers from the
Oberlin Conservatory as well as professional musicians
from the North Coast specializing in early music.

Tears and Sighs: A Valentine to John Dowland
Ron Andrico and Donna Stewart returned to St. Stanislaus Church with a program
entitled "Teares and Sighs: A Valentine to John Dowland." The duo, who specialize in rarely heard
lute songs, featured the Elizabethan Dowland's finest masterpieces of melancholy from his last
book of songs. Guest performers included Christina Babich on treble and bass viol, and vocalists
Lisa Rainsong and Gregory Heislman.

Christmas Oratorio
Red {An Orchestra}
More than 500 people attended Scheffer's modernized adaptation of Heinrich Schutz's oratorio,
"The Birth of Jesus Christ." It was performed in a new English translation by Amanda Holden
and featured chorus, soloists, marimbas and strings.

La Straniera - Cleveland Premier
Opera Circle
One of Bellini's most melodic operas, La Straniera, was an unqualified success when it premiered in 1829.
'Opera Circle,' under the artistic direction of Jacek and Dorota Sobieski, brought to life another
of Bellini's masterpieces.

Requiem Aeternam
A prayerful melding of sacred music and scripture, situated between the feast of All Souls
and Veterans Day to commemorate and honor those who have entered eternal life. Gregorian chant
and Motets were interwoven throughout readings followed by the traditional Compline service
for the faithful departed.

Performed by Ron Andrico, lutenist, and Donna Steward, alto. Lute music by the Polish composer,
Jakob Reyes, from the court of Henri III of France (formerly Henry II of Poland). Vocal music

St. Stanislaus Birthday Concert
Polish Singers Alliance of America District IX
St. Stanislaus Church hosted an ensemble of Polish choirs from Buffalo, New York in a grand concert
celebrating our patron saint. The concert consisted of sacred music performed by various
choirs, including the piece de resistance, Piotr Górecki's "St. Stanislaus Oratorio," which the
Buffalo ensemble will perform in Kraków later this year.
