LIFE TEEN'S MISSION
As a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the Blessed Virgin Mary as our intercessor and guide, Life Teen seeks to unleash the fullness of the Sacramental power present within the young Church.
This summer I had the incredible blessing of spending seven weeks in Tiger, Georgia, serving as a missionary at Life Teen's Camp Covecrest. It was one of the most transformative and life-giving experiences of my life, and I am so grateful to everyone who made it possible through your prayers and generous financial support. The first two weeks were dedicated to spiritual formation and preparing camp for the arrival of our campers. One of the greatest gifts I received during this time was learning to recognize God's voice in prayer. I came to understand more deeply that the Lord desires to speak to each of us, and that through the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us, we are able to hear his voice. As St. Paul reminds us, "No one can say, 'Jesus is Lord,' except by the Holy Spirit" (1Corinthians 12:3). During the following five weeks, we welcomed around 300 campers each week.
They participated in numerous outdoor adventures while growing in their relationship with Christ through prayer, praise and worship, talks, the sacraments, and small groups. I had the privilege of walking alongside these teens as a mentor and friend, reminding them how deeply loved they are by the Father.
Witnessing the teens coming into the week feeling weighed down and seeing them leave on Saturday walking in the freedom of Christ was such a gift. The days were physically and mentally exhausting, but the Lord never failed to provide exactly what I needed to sustain me. All summer the Lord reminded me of his closeness and goodness and I left with a new fire for the Gospel. None of this would have been possible without your payers and financial support. Thank you for making it possible for me to serve. Please know that all of you, the parishioners of St. Stanislaus, have been and will continue to be in my prayers.
